The ALDO Group is a well known Canadian omni-channel retailer of high quality, designer shoes and accessories and operates under 4 signature brands: ALDO, Mr. B’s, Call it Spring, and Globo. The ALDO Group has a global presence, with over 3,000 stores across 100 countries, and is present on all continents except Antarctica.
The Covid-impacted retail environment in 2020 affected the company’s business adversely and they needed to unlock the data in SAP BW for further insights. The data in SAP BW came with significant licensing costs and the company wanted to liberate this data to AWS where they would have multiple tools to use for a number of use cases and would reduce licensing costs at the same time. Once replicated to AWS, the data would become accessible to AWS Data & Analytics Services and held the potential for innovative insights that could reduce operating costs and add to the topline. BryteFlow provided a no-code solution to extract the ALDO Group’s data from the SAP/Hana application layer using Core Data Service Views (CDS Views) and Standard Extractors to the AWS data lake.
The ALDO Group can now access their SAP data in a scalable, cost-effective, elastic Data Lake on AWS that was built with zero coding. BryteFlow’s Plug and Play solution provided 90% faster deployment. The ALDO Group is now able to access their SAP data for Analytics and AI / ML use cases, they also benefit from the capability to use additional AWS services as a result of BryteFlow’s seamless integration with the AWS ecosystem. Also no data engineer was involved in setting up of the solution, liberating valuable resource time. BryteFlow during the POC could be deployed 25x faster than comparable solutions, with no coding required.
